Ruijie Rachel Liu

Research Assistant

Ruijie Rachel Liu is a comparative politics researcher interested in information regulation and public persuasion in Greater China. She is a research assistant at Oxford Global Society. Currently, she is a first-year MPhil student at the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. 

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons.) from the University of Hong Kong and used to be a visiting student for one year at Pembroke College of Oxford studying philosophy and politics. She is a Kwok scholar (2022) and also the recipient of the Dean’s Honors List of the Faculty of Social Sciences at HKU (2019, 2020, 2022), The Laidlaw Undergraduate Research and Leadership Scholarship (2020), the Entrance Scholarship of HKU (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021). 

Rachael is also an advocate of education equality and student empowerment. Previously, she participated in projects on local surveys in Chinese cities, solution journalism, decentralized content creation, academic exchange and translation, volunteer teaching, and research-based learning.
