Heather Allansdottir

Dr Heather Allansdottir is a forthcoming Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre of International Law at the University of Cambridge, where she will research the connections between environmental law and international criminal law, and the viability of prosecutions for the crime of ‘ecocide’.
She completed a doctorate in comparative constitutional law at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Socio-Legal Studies (2011-2016), and subsequently held a post-doctoral fellowship at Tel Aviv University’s Buchmann Law Faculty, as well as academic posts in Australia and Iceland.
Heather’s research interests lie in public international law in theory and practice, particularly comparative constitutional law, international criminal law, international humanitarian law (IHL) and human rights law, as well as space law and the current applicability and limitations of the Outer Space Treaty. She has a forthcoming book on comparative constitutional law 2000-2020, and is co-authoring another work on space law.
