Projects

The geopolitics of technologies
This project analyses how national competition, alliances, and conflicts shape the development and governance of critical digital technologies such as AI. The main themes include national/regional technology strategies and policies, the geopolitics of the technology supply chain, and the clash and cooperation of international technology governance.

AI impact and governance
As we move into 2026, the landscape of AI has shifted from experimental hype to deployment. This project examines the impact of AI in areas like work and learning. It also compares how governments respond to such impacts and associated risks, moving beyond high-level principles to evaluate how national policies manage the 'AI takeoff.'

Media platform governance
Online media platforms like X, TikTok, and YouTube are becoming our primary information gateways and gatekeepers. Meanwhile, AI-mediated content has deepened public distrust in information integrity. This initiative analyses how these platforms shape our information ecosystem, how governments regulate these platforms, and how states and platforms interact.
