Research topics

The geopolitics of technologies
This project examines the relations between geopolitics and digital technologies. It analyses how national strategic competition, alliances, and conflicts shape the development, control, and governance of critical technologies like AI. It also examines how these technologies are reshaping geopolitical realities by creating new dependencies and vulnerabilities. Our research mainly focuses on: the geopolitics of technology supply chain; the clash and cooperation of digital governance; and the role of technological capability in shaping future economic and military power.

Comparative platform governance
Online media platforms like X, TikTok, and YouTube are becoming our primary information gateways and gatekeepers, especially for young people. Meanwhile, AI-mediated content has deepened public distrust in information integrity. This initiative analyses how these platforms shape our information ecosystem, how governments and regions regulate these platforms, and how states and platforms interact. One strength of our research is its comparative perspective (when necessary).
